Mike Conway

I have worked at OMIC USA for 19 years in a variety of roles. What I enjoy most is the teamwork – mutual support employees give each other when faced with difficult tasks. When challenges have been shared and worked through collectively – especially among people with different, backgrounds, skills, or experience – successes and experience are also shared.
This teamwork has resulted in many process innovations and improvements that have higher efficiency, safety, or quality. Teamwork has also built morale and a culture for fostering skill development and career progression for employees. At OMIC, each person has a vital contribution in their current role, but also has a potential to grow and offer something new in the dynamic context of new scientific developments, technological improvements, and changing customer needs.

I joined OMIC 9+ years ago as an Analytical Chemist. In those years, OMIC has invested in new instrumentations such as SCIEX LC-MS/MS and Thermo HRMS which created many learning and development opportunities. To ensure my success, OMIC provided resources such as adequate staffing, onsite/offsite analytical training, and encouragement to participate in conferences both domestic and international. They have set standards and goals to challenge and motivate my intellectual growth. Participation in R&D projects have resulted in peer reviewed journal publications where I was listed as a contributing author. Learning is continuous and through a positive, nurturing learning environment, I have evolved from an individual contributor to a leadership position, and I hope to inspire the sample positivity and growth for my team.
